Final Report

Welcome to the official report of the 2011 Archdiocesan Assembly for the Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn.

The Assembly took place on 12 November 2011 with more than 420 Catholics from across the Archdiocese. The event was marked by a spirit of prayer, open discussion, listening and a strong sense of shared identity as Catholics, as well as real concern about the future and its challenges and opportunities.

This report has been designed and written for all the people of the Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn. The purpose of the report is to support the complex task of planning for the future.

More than 420 people attended the Assembly, representing approximately 97% of parishes within the Archdiocese.  It is encouraging that, already, more than 150 Assembly participants have completed the post Assembly evaluation survey.  Overwhelmingly the responses have been positive, with participants praising the organisation of the Assembly, the friendly and energetic spirit of the day and the wonderful opportunity to meet, and discuss issues with other Catholics.

Kind Regards,
The Assembly organising team.
